What is the Multiple Parcel Layers enhancement?
Multiple Parcel Layers is an enhancement that allows you to set up and manage more than one cadastral (parcel) layer within Clariti Launch or Guide. You can now assign specific layers to different submission types, helping applicants select only the locations that are valid for their application—whether it’s a bear hunting permit, utility easement, or right-of-way request.
How do Multiple Parcel Layers work?
With this enhancement, you can upload multiple cadastral layers and assign them to different submission types within your location settings. When an applicant selects a submission type, only the associated cadastral layer will display. Additionally, if there is only one cadastral layer uploaded, it will automatically be set as the default for all submission types. Child pages will inherit the parent page settings for cadastral layers unless they are manually overridden.
Why did we create this enhancement?
We developed the Multiple Parcel Layers enhancement to significantly improve accuracy and ease in location selection for permit applications. By narrowing down selectable map areas to those relevant to each specific application type, this update reduces confusion, minimizes errors, and streamlines the review process. It empowers cities with greater control by enabling customized layers for different use cases, ensuring that applicants only see the areas applicable to their permit.
For example:
- Bear Hunting Permits: Applicants only see zones where hunting is legally allowed, making it simple and clear which areas are eligible.
- Right-of-Way or Utility Permits: Location selection is restricted to designated utility corridors or easements, helping to avoid errors and ensure precision.
- Conservation Access Applications: The system limits selection to specific restoration or research zones, supporting environmental organizations and ensuring compliance.
How do I get access to this enhancement?
You can access the enhancement via the “GIS Layers” section in your system settings.
Will access to the Multiple Parcel Layers enhancement cost anything extra?
No, access to the Multiple Parcel Layers enhancement included with your current subscription. This tool is designed to support both new and existing customers without incurring any additional costs.
What happens if I only have one cadastral layer?
If you upload/link only one cadastral layer, it will automatically serve as the default for all submission types. This ensures that the system continues to operate smoothly even if you choose to upgrade to multiple layers in the future.
