What are community templates?
Community Templates is a feature that allows you to browse a collection of submission and case type configurations from other Clariti customers . You can filter these templates based on criteria like population size, submission type, or location, making it easier to find configurations that closely match your needs.
You’ll be able to preview a full overview of the steps, workflows, and rules configured by other customers, giving you inspiration and ideas for your own configurations. This is a great way to see how others are using Clariti and how you can apply similar configurations to your own organization.
Taking it a step further, Community Templates also allows you to clone selected submission or case types from other customers directly into your organization. And the best part? You can modify these templates to suit your unique requirements, ensuring that the final configuration works perfectly for your needs.
Why did we create this feature?
Our goal with this feature is simple: We want to make it easier for you to get up and running quickly with new configurations and reduce the time spent on implementation. Whether you’re expanding the way your city, county, or agency uses Clariti—such as by adopting new permit, license types, and guides—Community Templates can help streamline the process.
We also hope to foster a collaborative community where agencies can share their experiences, learn from each other, and find inspiration by seeing how other cities and counties are configuring Clariti. By sharing real-world examples, we can help you drive feature adoption and discover new ways to use the platform.
With Community Templates, we’re excited to offer you a valuable tool to inspire, accelerate, and simplify your work. We look forward to seeing how you make the most of this feature!

Community Templates Complete Walkthrough
Will access to this functionality cost anything?
No, access to Community Templates is included with your subscription. This tool is designed to support both new and existing customers in configuring their systems more efficiently.
Can Community Templates be used for both Clariti Launch and Clariti Guide?
Yes. Submission Types can be cloned regardless of whether they are a Guide or Accepting Applications. The functionality is available to both Clariti Guide and Clariti Launch customers.
Please note that you must have all of the feature dependencies of the template you are wishing to clone. If you are missing any - you will not be able to proceed with the cloning.
Who has the ability to import Community Templates into my organization?
By default, only Platform Owners (the highest admin level) can import, modify, or remove Community Templates. Other users with the proper permissions can still make changes through the system configuration menu on templates. If needed, permission roles can be adjusted in User Roles.
Who has access to view my system configuration?
By default, your system configuration is visible as a Community Template, allowing others to benefit from shared best practices. However, if you prefer to opt out, you can do so at any time by contacting our team at support@oncamino.com.
Will other Clariti Launch cities and counties have access to my Submission or permit data?
No. We will never share any sensitive information such as Submission data, application data or permit data. We are only sharing the system’s Submission and Case Type configurations.
Is any sensitive user data shared publicly?
No. We will never share any user data or user account information between our customers.
Will we have control over which Submission or Case Types are shared to the public?
Partially. Once your organization has been opted in, all of your live Submission and Case Types will be shared.
Private Submission Types will not be included in the repository and cannot be accessed by other Clariti Launch users.
Do I need to share my own configuration in order to access others?
No. You can choose to not share your own configuration while still being able to browse and import Community Templates.
Which parts of the configuration are copied over as part of the clone?
As a general rule, all of the configuration data that belongs to the Submission and Case Type(s) will be copied over as part of the Community Template. This includes all of the connected Steps, Rules, Data Fields and Workflows. One key exception is GIS data, which will not be included.
If you’d like a more detailed breakdown of what configuration is included in a Community Template, please take a look at the “How to Create a Clone” section within the Community Templates Complete Walkthrough.
Will GIS data or GIS logic be copied over as part of the process?
No. GIS queries or GIS layer data are not included in Community Templates.
Can I import Community Templates for Submission or Case Types from my own organization?
Yes. If your own organization is opted into participating in Community Templates, you will be able to import a new copy of your own Submission and Case Types.
How long does it take to run a clone?
Most clones are done in under a minute. The administrator who started the clone will receive an email notification once the process is complete.
What kind of edits should I be prepared to make after the clone is complete?
Given that we copy over all of the configuration data, there is likely to be some information that will need to be updated to suit your unique requirements. Some examples include:
- Custom content in Step Instructions
- Embedded images
- Custom URLs/links to webpages
- Welcome Messages
- Fee Formulas and surcharges
- GIS layer imports
- GIS queries
Newly imported Community Template Submissions and Case Types are automatically set to private so that you have the opportunity to make any modifications before opening them to the public.
After importing a Guide, can I turn it into an Application or vice versa?
Yes. Submission Types can be modified after they have been cloned, so that administrators can choose to disable or enable Applications. For example, a Guide can be cloned and then have a Workflow added to it to transform it into an Application.
