You may want to remove a Data Field if it is no longer needed or a duplicate was created, among other reasons.
To remove a Data Field from your Data Field Index page, you can archive it.
You can use the archive feature while on the Edit Data Field page. In order to archive a Data Field, it cannot be used in any:
- Rules,
- Forms, or
- Steps.
There is a Usage section on the Edit page that shows you where the Data Field is currently being used. You can click on the links to go to those uses, and remove the Data Field from the Rule, Form, or Step.
Once those uses are down to zero, you will be able to archive the Data Field.
Once a Data Field is archived, it can no longer be used. It will not appear in any new Submissions. An archived Data Field in an existing Submission will show a file box icon next to it, indicating that the Data Field is archived and can no longer be edited by an applicant or an admin.
On the Data Field Index page, you can filter by Archived Status, to see either Active or Archived Data Fields. You may Unarchive a Data Field on the Edit page if you want to use the Data Field again.
